Deputy Director for Facilities Management at Madadeni Provincial Hospital, requiring a degree and three years managerial experience in facilities management.
Requirements
- Degree / National Diploma in Public Management/Public Administration/ Health service Management. 3 years Managerial experience at Assistant Director Level in Facilities Management.
- A Valid Driver’s license.
- Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required: Knowledge of Public Service Act, Labour Relations Act, Public Service Regulations, National Health Act, Skills Development Act, Employment Equity Act.

Duties
- Ensure effective co-ordination, management and quality of work all the functional components of the systems department within the Hospital i.e.
- Cleaning, Portering, Linen management, Mortuary, Transport, Messengers, Registry, Food Service, accommodation, Safety & Security, IT and Patient Administration.
- Ensure the effective, efficient and economical utilisation of resources allocated to the institution including the development of staff.
- Manage Contracts of all out-sourced services provided by private companies to ensure compliance with service level agreement.
- Ensure that risk management, safety programs and Ideal Hospital Norms and Standards requirements are adhered to by all staff.
- Ensure the effective, efficient and economical management of allocated resources of the Division.
- Ensure that staff wear proper PPE and Uniform in line with KZN Health Uniform code.
- Develop policies and strategies aimed at improving service delivery.
- Perform regular walk abouts in the institution.
- Present reports at management meetings about the state of the institution.
- Ensure the effective, efficient and economical management of allocated resources of the Division.
- Ensure utilities and critical systems reliability with zero downtime for life support systems e.g. generators, medical, gases, HVAC, water and sewer boilers.
- Ensure delivery of services within budget, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and improve efficiency.
- Compile leave plan and update leave registers.
- Implement performance management and development system for staff support clinical services to deliver patient care.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety standards and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Actively support the implementation of revenue enhancement strategy.
- Provide facilities leadership to support planning, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure in line with operational requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Enforce disciplinary code and procedure.
- Ensure compliance to quality standards.
