Assistant Director: Credit Management
Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs
Overview
Manage creditor management services including invoice processing, supplier payments within 30 days, financial reconciliations and unit resources for the Department of Cooperative Governance in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Bachelors Degree/ NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Management as recognised by SAQA coupled with 3 years supervisory experience in a financial management environment and a valid Drivers Licence.
- Essential Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have: Sound knowledge of procurement and payments systems, policies and procedures;
- Sound knowledge of PFMA and Treasury Regulations, SCM and other prescripts;
- Function knowledge of BAS;
- Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations;
- Labour Relations Act;
- Good planning, decision making and problem solving skills;
- Ability to develop the unit into a team;
- Numeracy skills;
- Report writing;
- Financial Management;
- Good communication skills (verbal & written) with colleagues, management, Treasury and suppliers;
- Good computer literacy in MS Office (Ms Word and Ms Excel); must be prepared to drive official vehicles.
Duties
- The successful candidate will be required to manage creditor management services with the following responsibilities: Manage the receiving and recording of valid invoices;
- Manage the payment of suppliers within 30 days;
- Manage financial reconciliations and reporting;
- Manage resources of the unit.

Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
