Overview
Director of Municipal Administration overseeing corporate services and statutory administrative matters across municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Bachelors Degree / NQF Level 7 qualification in Municipal Administration / Public Administration / Local Government / Business Administration as recognised by SAQA coupled with at least 5 years middle/senior managerial experience in a Municipal Administration environment, as well as a SMS Pre-entry certificate (Nyukela) as offered by the National School of Government (NSG) (Certificate submitted prior to appointment) and a valid Drivers licence (code 8).

- Good communication skills (verbal & written) with municipalities, departmental staff and SALGA and good computer literacy in MS Office.
Duties
- The successful candidate will be required to oversee support and monitoring of corporate services and statutory administrative matters within municipalities in line with relevant municipal Acts and Regulations with the following responsibilities: Manage support and monitoring of human resource management matters of Senior Managers and councillors at municipalities within the province;
- Manage support, monitoring and assessment of organisational design at municipalities; administer municipal administrative statutory obligations;
- Manage support and monitoring of ICT at municipalities within the province;
- Develop policies, procedures and strategies aimed at improving service delivery within the municipal administration environment and management of resources.

All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
