Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (GENERAL: Clinical Trainer)

Overview

Professional nurse (Grade 1 to 3) needed as a clinical trainer at Helderberg Hospital to facilitate in-service training and orientation for nurses.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254 plus R880) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Experience: Grade 1: None.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
• Inherent requirement of the job: Valid Code EB/EC drivers’ licence.
• Willingness to perform after-hour training service for staff members on night.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel & Outlook) Knowledge of the nursing education and training.

Duties

• Facilitate the in-service training/updating of skills and competencies as well as the orientation programme for nurses.
• Assist with effective management and utilisation of physical, material and financial resources within the nurse training department.
• Maintain ethical standards and promote professional growth and self – development.
• Participate in personal development, research and quality initiatives.
• Implement assessment strategies to determine staff and learners’ competencies.
