• Ontwik en implementeer 'n Infeksievoorkoming- en -beheerplan vir die instansie.
• Verseker dat Infeksievoorkoming en -beheer asook die Antibiotiese beheerkomitee in plek is en funksioneel is.
• Bevorder Infeksievoorkoming en -kultuur binne die instansie deur toepaslike werkswinkels, oudits, vergaderings en bewustheid te hou.
• Identifiseer Infeksiebeheerrisiko's en doen aanbevelings oor verminderingsstrategieë.
• Verskaf opleiding aan alle kategorieë personeel oor Infeksiebeleid, -beginsels en -praktyke.
• Voer Infeksievoorkoming- en -beheerbewaking uit en doen verslag oor die voorkoms en prevalensie van waaksaamheidsorganismes en oordraagbare siektes aan die Distrik en aan die Communicable Disease Centre.
• Identifiseer en rapporteer alle hospitaalverworwe infeksies.
• Besoek die Departemente binne die instansie om infeksievoorkoming- en -beheerrisiko's te identifiseer.
• Verseker dat alle departemente voldoen aan die Raamwerk, protokolle en riglyne vir Infeksievoorkoming en -beheer.
• Identifiseer uitbreek van infeksies, en begin ondersoek en beheermaatreëls in samewerking met die Infeksievoorkoming- en -beheerkomitee.
• Verskaf 'n doeltreffende en effektiewe Infeksievoorkoming- en -beheerdienst in die instansie.
• Dien as 'n Kliniese bestuurskampioen in die fasiliteit, en verseker 'n doeltreffende stelsel vir kliniese risikobestuur.
• Hersien die instansie se Standard operating procedures vir Infeksievoorkoming en -beheer.
• Verskaf advies oor verskeie aspekte van infeksievoorkoming en -beheer, asook toepaslike beleid aan bestuur.
