• Registrasie by die Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as 'n Mediese Spesialis in Verloskunde en Ginekologie.
• Bykwalifikasie: Sertifisering by die HPCSA as 'n reproduktiewe geneeskunde-spesialis NB: Kandidate sonder 'n sertifikaat maar met bewese belangstelling en ervaring in reproduktiewe gesondheid sal oorweeg word indien geen geskikte kandidaat gevind word nie.
• Ervaring: Graad 1: Geen ervaring vereis nie.
• Graad 2: Vyf (5) jaar maar minder as tien (10) jaar toepaslike ervaring as 'n Mediese Spesialis na registrasie by die HPCSA as Mediese Spesialis- Verloskunde en Ginekologie.
• Graad 3: Tien (10) jaar en meer toepaslike ervaring as 'n Mediese Spesialis na registrasie by die HPCSA as Mediese Spesialis Verloskunde en Ginekologie.
• Kennis, Vaardighede, Opleiding en Bevoegdhede Vereis: Degelike kliniese kennis en ervaring in Verloskunde en Ginekologie.
• Kennis van huidige Gesondheids- en Openbare Dienswetgewing, regulasies en beleide insluitend mediese etiek, epidemiologie en statistiek.
• Goeie kommunikasie-, leierskaps-, besluitnemings- en kliniese vaardighede.

Pligte

• Bestuur van kliniese dienste soos gedelegeer.
• Ambulante en hospitale kliniese verantwoordelikhede met buite-ure deelname by IALCH (binne die subdissipline en ander Obs en Gynae-dienste) volgens die departementele oproeprooster.
• Ontwikkel en laat groei die kliniese platform vir bestuur van pasiënte met reproduktiewe uitdagings.
• Neem deel aan die ontwikkeling en voortdurende verskaffing van voor- en nagraadse gesondheidspersoneelonderrig volgens die akademiese program van die departement.
• Neem deel aan die Kwaliteitsverbeteringsprogramme van die Departement.
• Handhaaf kliniese, professionele en etiese standaarde.
• Handhaaf noodsaaklike dissipline oor personeel onder sy/haar beheer.
• Behandel administratiewe sake soos dit op die Departement betrekking het.
• Betrek wees in gemeenskapsgeoriënteerde programme (voorligting) insluitend die verskaffing van kundige advies en dienste aan alle gesondheidsfasiliteite binne die provinsie soos gedelegeer.
• Let wel: Dit is 'n dienspos, en is nie noodwendig verbind aan die opleiding as 'n subspesialis in die subdissipline nie - laasgenoemde vereis afsonderlike aansoek wanneer die opleidingspos beskikbaar is
