Vereistes

• 'n Mediese MBBCh- of ekwivalente graad met 'n toepaslike kwalifikasie in psigiatrie (FC Psych (SA), MMed (Psych) of ekwivalente kwalifikasie erken deur die HPCSA), wat registrasie as 'n spesialis-psigiater by die Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) moontlik maak.
• Deglike kliniese kennis en vaardighede in psigiatrie en kinderpsigiatrie.
• Vermoë om in 'n multidissiplinêre span te werk.
• Vermoë om die vereiste onderrig- en opleidingsvereistes na te kom.
• Kennis van wetgewing, beleide en prosedures rakens geestesgesondheidsorggebruikers.
• Voldoende interpersoonlike vaardighede asook professionele en etiese gedrag te alle tye. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie.

Pligte

• Verskaf 'n direkte kliniese diens en bestuur 'n psigiatriese biologiese manlike inpasient-eenheid.
• En 'n weeklikse uitpasient-kliniek.
• Die verskaffing van sorg, behandeling en rehabilitasie aan geestesgesondheidsorggebruikers binne die raamwerk van die Mental Health Care Act (No 17 of 2002); betrokkenheid by ander algemene psigiatriewerk soos benodig.
• Verskaf uitreikdienste aan Distriksgesondheidsdienste en Distriks-/Streeks-hospitale.
• Onderrig en opleiding van mediese studente, mediese beamptes en psigiatrie-registrateurs, asook ander personeel (bv. verpleegkundiges, ens.).
• Om navorsing wat relevant is tot die Gauteng Department of Health en die Department of Psychiatry te stimuleer, mee te help en uit te voer.
• Om junior personeel te superviseer en te bestuur, wat disiplinêre verantwoordelikhede sal insluit, wanneer nodig.
• Administratiewe pligte.
• Aktiewe deelname aan hospitaalbestuurskomitees.
• Om te help met die ontwikkeling van beleide en protokolle van die hospitaal.
• Aktiewe deelname aan gehalteverbeteringsprogramme, insluitend kliniese oudits, morbiditeits- en mortaliteitsvergaderings en voortdurende professionele ontwikkelingsaktiwiteite.
• Om met eksterne belanghebbendes te skakel wanneer toepaslik.
• Om te alle tye professionele en etiese gedrag te handhaaf.
• Hierdie pos is 'n gesamentlike aanstelling met die Department of Psychiatry, University of the Witwatersrand.
• Die persoon sal verwag word om aan die onderrigprogram van die departement deel te neem en opleiding aan 'n reeks studente en gesondheidsorgwerkers te verskaf.
