Direkteurspos om bosbounavorsing, -ontwikkeling, -innovasie en nasionale norme vir volhoubare bosbestuur binne die Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment te bestuur.

Vereistes

  • ‘n Voorgraadse kwalifikasie in Bosbou of ‘n relevante kwalifikasie (NQF7) binne die verwante veld soos deur SAQA erken. ‘n Minimum van vyf (5) jaar se ervaring op ‘n middel-/seniorbestuursvlak.
  • Ervaring in Navorsing en Bosbou-bestuur of ‘n verwante veld.
  • Suksonvolle voltooiing van die Senior Management Pre-entry Programme soos deur die National School of Government (NSG) bekragtig moet voor aanstelling ingedien word.
  • Alle gekese kandidate, insluitend SMS, moet twee voor-toetrede assessorings onderneem.
  • Een moet ‘n praktiese oefening wees, en die ander moet ‘n Integriteit (Etiese Gedrag)-assessering wees.
  • Alle gekese kandidate vir SMS-poste sal aan ‘n tegniese oefening en onderhoud onderwerp word.
  • Na die tegniese oefening en onderhoud sal ‘n maksimum van drie (3) SMS-kandidate psigometriese assesserings ondergaan om kognitiewe vermoëns, gedragsvoorkeure, emosionele intelligensie en integriteit te assessor.
  • Uitgebreide kennis van die National Forestry Act, 84 of 1998 (NFA), die National Veld & Forestry Fire Act, 101 of 1998 (NVFFA) en die Management of State Forests Act, 128 of 1992.
  • Begrip van wetstoepassingswetgewing en relevante regulasies.
  • Begrip en kennis van ruimtelike en nie-ruimtelike inligtingstelsels.
  • Kennis en begrip van relevante nasionale wetgewing en internasionale ooreenkomste en verbintenis, insluitend hul impak.
  • Kennis en begrip van internasionale wette, ooreenkomste en verbintenisse rakende Bosbou-bestuur. Leierskapsbestuur.
  • Program- en projekbestuur. Kennisbestuur.
  • Personeelsbestuur en bemagtiging.
  • Finansiële bestuur.
  • Degte navorsings, analitiese, organiseerende, beplannings- en aanbiedingsvaardighede.
  • Interpersoonlike vaardighede. Rekenaargeletterdheid.

  • Bestuur bosbounavorsing, -ontwikkeling en -innovasie in die sektor.
  • Verseker dat die navorsingsfunksie tred hou met wêreldtendense.
  • Bestuur die navorsingsfunksie en befondsing.
  • Bestuur die ontwikkeling van nasionale norme en standaarde vir volhoubare bosbestuur.
  • Bestuur die ontwikkeling van beginsels, kriteria, aanwysers en standaarde vir volhoubare bosbestuur (SFM).
  • Verseker voorsiening van wetenskaplike bosbestuursriglyne, beste praktyke en bystand aan die Tak en breër bosbousektor.
  • Bestuur die voorsiening van spesialistiese tegniese advies en ondersteuning aan die Tak en ander relevante belanghebbendes.
  • Bestuur die voorsiening van bosbou-onderwerpinsette tot geïntegreerde omgewingsbestuur.
  • Fassiliteer en monitor die implementering, instandhouding en verbetering van volhoubare bosbestuursakeprosesse.
  • Voorsiening van strategiese bosbou-inligting en -kennis ter ondersteuning van beleidsontwikkeling en besluitneming.
  • Verseker nakoming van die nasionale en internasionale bosbourapporteringsvereistes.
  • Koördineer en bestuur ruimtelike en nie-ruimtelike inligtingsversameling, -verwerking en -analise.
  • Koördineer streek- Geographical Information Systems (GIS) en prosesse vir die versameling van data en kartering.
  • Onderhou ‘n omvattende GIS-databasis vir die streek met kaarte en omgewingsdata.
  • Hou toesig oor die ontwikkeling van GIS-verslae, vir verdere optrede.

Entry level requirements for SMS posts: In terms of the Directive on Compulsory Capacity Development, Mandatory Training Days & Minimum Entry Requirements for SMS that was introduced on 1 April 2015, a requirement for all applicants for SMS posts from 1 April 2020 is a successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme as endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG) prior to appointment. Furthermore, Shortlisted candidates must provide proof of successful completion of the course. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Following the interview and technical passement for all SMS posts, the Selection Panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of competency-based assessments. Persons appointed will be subjected to a security clearance, the signing of performance agreement and employment contract. The Department reserves the right not to make an appointment.
