Bedien en onderhou spesialiseerde aanleg en swaar voertuie, voer daaglikse padwaardigheidsinspeksies uit, en hou toesig oor bestuurderkwaliteitsversekerings by Somerset East.

Vereistes

• 'n NQF vlak 4.
• Openbaarmaking van 'n geldige Code EC /EC1 (of ekwivalent) onvervalle bestuurslisensie met geldige PDP.
• Gesertifiseerde bevoegdheid /bedryfsertifikaat of tersaaklike swaar aanleg/ masjinerie.
• Ten minste vyf (5) jaar se ervaring in die bestuur van swaar motorvoertuie en die bedryf van swaar toerusting.
• Verkeer- en padveiligheidsregulasies.
• Meganiese kennis van swaar voertuie en masjinerie.
• Beroepsveiligheid (OHS).
• Basiese kennis van departementele vervoerbeleide en prosedures.
• Basiese rekordhouding en verslagdoeningsprosedures.
• Goeie kommunikasievaardighede beide (mondelings en skriftelik).
• Aandag aan besonderhede en waaksaamheid.
• Probleemoplossing in bedryfsonderhoude.
• Vermoë om onder druk en in ongunstige weer/terreinomstandighede te werk.
• Integriteit en diskresie.

Pligte

• Verantwoordelik vir die uitvoer van kwaliteitsversekering van bestuurder/operateurstelsels.
• Bedien spesialiseerde aanleg/ toerusting.
• Implementeer beste praktyk van bestuurder/operateurstelsels.
• Verantwoordelik vir daaglikse padwaardigheidsinspeksies.
• Verantwoordelik om te verseker dat voertuie betyds onderhou word.
• Analiseer logistieke bedrywighede.
• Vervoer van werkspanne en materiaal/ toerusting.
• Versameling van goedere by verskaffers en departementwinkels.
• Onderhoud van die registrasie van departement en bakkies.
• Funksioneer in ooreenstemming met toepaslike wetgewende vereistes.
• Bespeur en herstel klein meganiese probleme op die voertuie/ toerusting en tree stappe om dit te laat herstel.
• Roetineonderhoud van toerusting.
• Roetine-inspeksie van sigbare gebreke rondom die buitekant van die toerusting en voertuie.
• Behandel spesiale versoeke.
• Optekening van daaglikse ritte, brandstof en vloeistofvlakke.
• Periodieke kontrole op voertuie se onderhoudstandaarde.
• Verseker dat die plek skoon is waar toerusting gehou word om brandgevaar te vermy.
• Nakoming van Veiligheid en prosedures: verseker die veilige bewaring van toerusting en voertuie.
• Bystand met onderhoudswerk by meetstasies.
• Bystand met opknapping en konstruksiewerk by meetstasies.
• Bystand aan die tegniese personeel met spesiale take.

A pre-entry certificate obtained from the National School of government is required prior to the appointment. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance.
