Oorsig

Adjunkdirekteur vir Gesondheidsbevordering in Pretoria verantwoordelik vir die ontwikkeling van nasionale gesonde leefstylriglyne, raamwerke en strategieë binne die Departement van Gesondheid.

Vereistes

  • 'n Graad 12-sertifikaat en 'n NQF 7 voorgraadse kwalifikasie in Gesondheidswetenskappe / Sosiale Wetenskappe / Gesondheidsbevordering en/of 'n Verpleegkwalifikasie soos deur SAQA erken.
  • Ten minste drie (3) jaar se ervaring as 'n Assistentdirekteur in gesondheidsbevordering / siektevoorkoming / gesonde leefstylbevordering / oordraagbare siektes / nie-oordraagbare siektes / openbare gesondheid en/of verwante programme.
  • Kennis van relevante Wette, regulasies en beleide binne die Departement van Gesondheid wat verband hou met gesondheidsbevordering en siektevoorkoming.
  • Begrip van gesondheidsbevorderingsbeginsels, gedragsverandering-benaderings en sosiale, ekonomiese, omgewings- en kommersiële determinante van gesondheid.
  • Kennis van Suid-Afrika se gesondheidstelselstruktuur en openbare gesondheidsdiensleweringsmodelle.
  • Begrip van ingrypings wat verband hou met gesonde eet, fisiese aktiwiteit, tabakbeheer, vermindering van skadelike alkoholgebruik, bevordering van geestelike welsyn, voorkoming van oordraagbare siektes en ander openbare gesondheidsprioriteite.
  • Kennis van openbare gesondheidsprogrambeplanning, implementering, monitering en evalueringsisteme, asook beleid-, strategie-, riglyn- en opleidingsmateriaalontwikkeling en -hersieningsprosesse.
  • Beginsels van bestuur en personeelbestuur.
  • Goeie tegniese en analitiese denke, kommunikasie (mondelings en skriftelik), aanbieding, fasilitering, organisatoriese, beplannings-, konflikoplossings-, projekbestuurs- en rekenaarvaardighede (MS-pakket).
  • Vermoë om onafhanklik en as deel van 'n span te werk. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie.

Pligte

  • Ontwikkel nasionale riglyne, raamwerke, strategieë en hulpmiddels vir die implementering van die HLS-program.
  • Koördineer en verskaf tegniese leiding vir die ontwikkeling en hersiening van gesonde leefstylbeleid, norme en standaarde, strategieë en riglyne.
  • Fasiliteer belyning met WHO-aanbevelings, nasionale gesondheidsprioriteite en relevante wetgewende raamwerke.
  • Bestuursbelanghebbende-konsultasieprosesse om tegniese dokumente en ingrypings te valideer.
  • Verskaf tegniese ondersteuning aan provinsies vir die implementering van gesonde leefstylingrypings en -programme.
  • Koördineer en ondersteun die ontwikkeling en verspreiding van implementeringshulpmiddels, kommunikasiemateriaal en opleidingspakkette.
  • Voer ondersteuningsbesoeke uit om implementering van gesonde leefstylprogramme en nakoming van nasionale riglyne en standaarde te moniteer en te evalueer.
  • Koördineer implementering, monitering en verslagdoening van nasionale gesonde leefstylingrypings en -programme.
  • Moniteer programprestasie, implementeringsvordering en gebruik van hulpbronne om bereiking van programteikens te verseker.
  • Identifiseer implementeringsuitdagings, risiko's en gapings, en fasiliteer korrektiewe maatreëls en deurlopende programverbetering.
  • Stel verslae op oor programprestasie en implementeringsuitkomste om beplanning en besluitneming te inlig.
  • Verskaf tegniese ondersteuning aan interne en eksterne belanghebbendes vir die implementering van die HLS-program.
  • Fasiliteer die vestiging en versterking van intersektoriële samewerkingsmeganismes om implementering van gesonde leefstylingrypings te ondersteun.
  • Verteenwoordig die departement in relevante tegniese forums en komitees.
  • Bestuur hulpbronne en ouditrisiko's.
  • Bestuur menslike en operasionele hulpbronne.
  • Teken prestasieooreenkomste van ASD's en PDP's asook voer midjaar- en jaarlikse prestasie-evaluerings uit.
  • Reageer op ouditnavrae.

All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements, and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Following the interview and technical exercise for SMS posts, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment (in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of competency-based assessments). The competency assessment will be testing generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment batteries. Applications should be submitted on the new Z83 form obtainable from any Public Service department and should be accompanied by a CV only (previous experience must be comprehensively detailed). The Z83 must be fully completed (in line with DPSA Practice note), failure to comply will automatically disqualify the applicant. Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualification and other relevant documents on application. Certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents will be requested prior to the final selection phase. Applications should be on one PDF format (If emailed).
