Hoofbibliotaris verantwoordelik vir katalogisering by die Konstitusionele Hof in Braamfontein, wat katalogusse tot internasionale biblioteekstandaarde ontwikkel.

Vereistes

  • Aansoekers moet 'n Nasionale Diploma in Biblioteek- en Inligtingkunde/Rekordbestuur/Inligtingstudies of 'n relevante kwalifikasie op NQF vlak 6 met 360 krediete soos deur SAQA erken besit. 'n Minimum van twee (2) jaar ondervinding in 'n biblioteekomgewing. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie en 'n nagraadse kwalifikasie in biblioteek- en inligtingkunde/-studies sal as 'n bykomende voordeel dien.
  • Alle gekorte lys kandidate sal 'n voor-toetrede praktiese oefening onderneem as deel van die assesseringsmetode om die kandidaat se geskiktheid gebaseer op die pos se tegniese en generiese vereistes te bepaal.
  • Kennis en vaardighede: Kennis van die regsbiblioteekomgewing asook vergelykende navorsing en internasionale regsaangeleenthede in Suid-Afrika.
  • Kennis van biblioteek OPAC-stelsels, rekenaarvaardigheid (MS Office, Power point, Outlook, Word, Excel en Internet), verslagskryfvaardighede, navorsings- en beplanningsvaardighede, uitstekende kommunikasievaardighede (skriftelik en mondeling) en Interpersoonlike verhoudings.

  • Ontwikkel die katalogus in ooreenstemming met internasionale biblioteekstandaarde, laai die beste bibliografiese rekords af vanuit Smartport, UKM en OCLC, verseker die verspreiding van gekatalogiseerde materiaal, verseker dat materiaal maklik vanaf rakke herwin kan word, administreer die klassifikasie van die biblioteekversameling, koördineer en onderhou versamelings wat verband hou met vorige uitgawes en nie-boekmateriaal;
  • Identifiseer en verwyder naslaanwerke en reeks Publikasies uit die algemene boekversameling, verseker dat gekatalogiseerde materiaal relevant is tot biblioteekgebruikers se behoeftes, werk vorige uitgawes by en administreer dit, koördineer batebestuur binne die Konstitusionele Hof-biblioteek, voer bateverifikasie en voorraadopname van die biblioteekmateriaal uit, voeg strepieskodes by en rekords tot die biblioteekbestuurstelsel en inskrywings in die biblioteekbategister, verwyder verouderde boeke van rakke, werk die biblioteekstelsel en bategister by met die afgeskryfde vorige materiaal, verseker die implementering van die wegdoening van boeke, handel navrae aangaande ongeverifieerde biblioteekmateriaal af, hou toesig oor en ontwikkel personeel, verseker algemene toesig oor werknemers, wys pligte toe en voer gehaltebeheer uit op die werk wat deur amptenare gelewer word, bestuur verlof van personeel, gee advies en leiding aan toesigtgedeses rakende alle aspekte van die werk; bestuur prestasie, gedrag en dissipline van werknemers, verseker dat alle werknemers opgelei en ontwikkel word om in staat te wees om werk van die vereiste standaard doeltreffend en effektief te lewer, handel navrae af en verskaf advies en leiding oor bate-toewysing en -beheer, ontwikkel, implementeer en monitor werksisteme en prosesse om doeltreffende en effektiewe funksionering te verseker.
