Vereistes

  • A Senior/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Public Administration and Public Management will serve as an added advantage.
  • One (1) year experience will serve as an added advantage.
  • The disclosure of a valid unexpired driver's licence will serve as an added advantage.
  • Introduction to PERSAL Certificate will also serve as an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of PERSAL, computer literacy in Ms packages.
  • Knowledge of HR prescripts governing the public service.
  • Good interpersonal skills, customer care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside the normal working hours.

Pligte

  • Render HR administrative functions and queries.
  • Administer recruitment and selection, performance management and development system and trainings, process human resource transactions (appointments, IOD, PILLIR, leaves, pension administration, promotions, transfers and terminations), draft memorandums and submissions.
  • Render professional advice to line function on the effective and efficient interpretation and implementation of the departmental HRM policies and other related prescripts.
  • Compile daily statistics and update databases.

Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity. A pre-entry certificate obtained from the National School of government is required prior to the appointment. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance. Foreigners or dual citizenship holders must provide a police clearance certificate from country of origin (only when shortlisted). The Department of Water Sanitation is an equal opportunity employer.
