• Okuqashelwa okuhambisana ekusetshenzisweni kwe-National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) (NEMA), njengokulungisiwe, NEMA Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2014 (GN No, R982 of 4 December 2014, njengokulungisiwe) kanye ne-National Environmental Management Waste Act.
• Ulwazi nge-EIA Regulations, ukuphathwa kwezokusingatha isimo sendawo ngokuhlanganiswayo nokuqashelwa kwayo.
• Ulwazi olwolulekile ngezinjongo nezinhloso zentuthuko eqhubekayo, kanye nazo zonke izinto ezisetshenziswa nezithulusi zokuphathwa kwezokusingatha isimo sendawo ngokuhlanganiswayo.
• Ukuqonda inqubo yomthetho nesisekelo somthetho esibusa ukuphathwa kwesimo sendawo ngokujwayelekile kanye nenqubo yomthetho.
• Okuqashelwa ekuphathweni nasekuhlolweni kwe-EIA kanye nezinto eziguquguqukayo ezinhlelweni zokuphatha i-EIA.
• Abafaka izicelo kumelwe babe namakhono okulandelayo: Amakhono anamuva amakhompyutha, amakhono okuphatha iphrojekthi, amakhono okubhala imibiko kanye namakhono okuxhumana ahlelekile (okubhaliwe noma okukhulunwayo).

• Ukuhlola imibiko ye-EIA kanye nokuqondiswa okwenziwe abasebenzi bamacala.
• Ukuhlola futhi_ucubungula izicelo ze-Section 24G naku-30A ngokuka-NEMA nezimiso zayo, 2014 njengokulungisiwe.
• Ukusungula kanye nokugcina izinhlangano abantu abahlanganyelayo emihlanganweni yenyanga ngalinye noma yamasonto amabili noma kohanjuli noma kumajoni.
• Ukuqondisa, uphendule kanye nokwabelana imibuzo evela kubantu abahlanganyelayo.
• Ukuphatha, ukuqondisa kanye nokunikezazeluleko oseshini bokuqondisa isimo sendawo kubasebenzi bamacala.
• Ukuqondisa nokuxhumana abantu abahlanganyelayo bese unikeza ukuqondisa emihlanganweni ehleliwe kanye nengahleliwe kanye nasokuvakashela izindawo ukuze aqonde izinto ezihlobene ne-EIA.
• Ukuhlola kanye nokunikeza imibono yobuchwepheshe emibikweni yokuphendula izikhalazisibopho (ARRs).
• Ukusekela izinkonzo ezibuswa ngesinyathelo ngokuqaphela ukuzwelayo nokuphoqelela.

Furthermore, Shortlisted candidates must provide proof of successful completion of the course. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. All shortlisted candidates for SMS will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessment to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preference, emotional intelligence and integrity.
