Overview
Manage a high-volume switchboard, helpdesk and telephonic enquiries at Macassar CDC in Khayelitsha, requiring Grade 9 and switchboard experience.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std. 7).
- Experience: Appropriate experience in the operating of a high-volume switchboard, a messaging/ paging system and managing an enquiry/ helpdesk.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Willingness to work under pressure, unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, including public holidays, weekends and overtime.
- Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Duties
- Manage switchboard, email and telephonic enquiries, dispatching calls, taking and delivering messages, making announcements and paging staff over intercom.
- Manage the facility helpdesk.
- Effective telecommunication and support service to the facility.
- Handle all internal and external calls and general enquiries.
- Handle all telecommunication equipment and related tasks to ensure that all equipment is in working order, report all faults timeously to line manager.
- Maintain and update internal directory.
- Keep records of all official and private calls and print and distribute monthly telephone accounts.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to colleagues and supervisor.
