Overview

Staff Nurse positions at Riversdale Hospital offering three grading levels with progressive salary scales and varying experience requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.
• Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.
• Experience: Grade 1: None Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with the SANC.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with the SANC.
• Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, night duty, including weekends, public holidays as well as overtime.
• Willingness to assist in the other wards in the hospital when needed.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication and interpersonal relationships.
• Self- discipline and motivation.
• Ability to work in a team across the service platforms.

Duties

• Development and implementation of basic patient care plans.
• Provide basic clinical nursing care.
• Effective utilization of physical and financial resources.
• Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self- development.
• Take actions to improve quality of nursing care.
• Participate in infection prevention and control.
