Overview

Deputy Manager Nursing sought to provide strategic nursing leadership at Dora Nginza Regional Hospital in Gqeberha, requiring an R425 qualification and nine years' experience.

Requirements

  • Basic R425 qualification Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse General.
  • Minimum of 9 years after registration as a Professional Nurse, at least 4 years’ appropriate recognizable experience must be at Management Level.
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding and application of Nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
  • Knowledge of PFMA, HR Management.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector Legislation and relevant Prescript/Regulation, Batho Pele Principles and patient Right Charter.
  • Strong leadership, good interpersonal relations, effective problem-solving, management and decision-making skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential requirements.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Duties

  • To manage and provide strategic Nursing leadership and direction to the Nursing Services.
  • Plan and monitor the objectives of the specialised unit in line with the strategic plan of the institution and the department.
  • Coordinate and maintain conducive/constructive working relationships with Nursing and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with professional and ethical practice.
  • Monitor and ensure nursing care is practised in accordance with the statutory law, policies and procedures governing the Nursing Profession, Labour and Health Care.
  • Effective management and utilisation of Human and Material Resources.
  • Ensure effective implementation of PMDS.
  • Monitor compliance to Quality Assurance and Infection Control and Occupational Health and Safety standards and National Core Standards Compliance.
  • Ensure efficient and effective execution of administration functions of the Nursing unit.
