Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (GENERAL: Primary Health

Overview
Professional Nurse (Grade 1-3) position providing comprehensive primary healthcare and quality nursing supervision at Rosemoor Clinic in George.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.
- Diploma/Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Registration with a professional council: Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Experience: Grade 1: None Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
- Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to assist/relieve at other Primary Health Care facilities (e.g.
- Community Day Centres, Clinics, Satellite Clinics, Mobile Clinics).
- Willingness to work shifts and assist in the hospital when needed.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Planning and organisational Skills.
- Self-discipline and motivation.
- The ability to function independently under pressure.
- Good communication skills.
Duties
- Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of quality comprehensive nursing care within the Primary Health Care context.
- Maintain ethical practise within legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain a constructive working relationship with all relevant stakeholders of the Primary Health Care Team.
- Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
- Participate in training programmes and research activities.
- Maintain workplace disciplinary of sub-ordinates.

One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment.
