Chief Director: Human Resource Management and

Overview

Lead the strategic human resource management function for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance, overseeing HR administration and development at SMS Level 14.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Bachelors Degree/ NQF Level 7 qualification in Human Resource Management as recognised by SAQA coupled with at least 5 years experience at senior managerial level in a Human Resource Management and Development environment, as well as an SMS Pre-entry certificate (Nyukela) as offered by the National School of Government (NSG) (Certificate submitted prior to appointment) and a valid Drivers licence.

Duties

  • The successful candidate will be required to manage a Strategic Human Resource function within the department with the following responsibilities: Render efficient Human Resource administration services;
  • Provide optimal development of departmental human resources;
  • Manage the development of human resource strategies and provide organisational development services;
  • Manage labour relations matters;
  • Ensure the development and implementation of policies, strategies and guidelines;
  • Manage the resources of the Chief Directorate.

All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
