Overview

Administration Clerk providing general clerical and supply chain support services for the Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety in the Western Cape.

Requirements

  • A grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
  • Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics;
  • Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service;
  • Working procedures in terms of the working environment;
  • Skills needed: Computer Literacy;
  • Planning and organisation;
  • Good verbal and written communication;
  • Interpersonal relations;
  • Flexibility and Teamwork.

Duties

  • Render general clerical support services for the sub-directorate: Record, organise, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data (line function), update registers and statistics;
  • Provide supply chain clerical support services within the component: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to procurement of goods and services, obtain quotations and complete procurement forms for the purchasing of inventory;
  • Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component: Keep and maintain a leave and attendance registers for the component, keep and maintain personnel records in the component;
  • Provide financial administration support services in the component: Liaise with stakeholders to receive and review Community Safety Partnership Funding (CSPF) reports and payments, process CSPF payments.
