Administration Clerk: Finance/admin (FEES)

Overview
Administration clerk handling cashier duties, BAS transactions and reconciliations at Paarl Hospital, requiring Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accountancy.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience: Appropriate experience in a Fees- related environment dealing with Clinicom Patient Administration.
- Inherent requirements of the job: Rotate between departments as per operational requirements if required.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy.
- (MS Office, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Knowledge and experience in Clinicom, Accounts Receivable (AR) system, Basic Accounting System (BAS), Uniform Patient Fees Schedule (UPFS) manual, Hospital Memorandum 18, JAC and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
Duties
- Perform cashier duties, including allocation of external funders and debtor payments as well as completion of all BAS transactions e.g., deposits, day- ends, journals and special journals.
- Complete the balancing and reconciliation processes between BAS and AR System.
- Follow-up on medical aid and non- medical aid outstanding invoices in line with Hospital Fees Manual Chapter 18 and related finance instructions, including management of foreign debtors.
- General fees administration and account-related duties/enquiries as per UPFS and billing requirements.
- Control the JAC Information and JAC Error Report.
- Relief colleagues and undertake various other clerical duties as and when required.
