Assistant Director for Employee Health and Wellness at Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government.

Requirements

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher) in social sciences/humanities/industrial psychology/public management science or a related field of study;
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Competencies Knowledge of the following: Policies and frameworks regarding to employee wellness programmes in government;
  • Quantitative and qualitative research methodologies;
  • Latest advances in employee health and wellness theory and practice;
  • Statutory framework governing the broad management of the Public Service;
  • Employee health and wellness theory, practice and techniques;
  • Appreciative inquiry;
  • Functions of the various components of the WCG to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to interventions;
  • Project management;
  • Monitoring and evaluation tools;
  • Supply Chain Management Procedures and Contract Management regarding vendor invoices, payments and expenditure;
  • Researching and Analysing;
  • Relating and Networking;
  • Persuading and Influencing;
  • Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations;
  • Deciding and Initiating Action;
  • Leading and Supervising;
  • Adhering to Principles and Values;
  • Presenting and Communicating Information;

Duties

  • Communication and awareness of EHW services and programmes;
  • Management of EHW advisory services and EHW Project plans;
  • Develop relevant EHW governance and standards;
  • Management of Supply Chain Management Procedures and Contract Management;
  • Reporting on EHW utilisation and trends;
  • Supervising the EHW practitioner(s); planning relevant projects for the client; monitoring service provided by the service provider and the utilisation of the report on relevant executed projects on various reporting and statistical platforms; monitoring service provider SLA compliance.
