Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate three-year national diploma or degree.
  • Experience: Appropriate experience in Financial Management and expenditure control.
  • Appropriate supervisory experience.
  • Appropriate experience in completing and analysing BMI’s.
  • Inherent requirement of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
  • Competencies (knowledge/skills): Organizational, managerial, leadership skills and an aptitude for working with financial figures.
  • Strong people management and supervisory skills, ability to work in a team context and motivate team members.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of PFMA, Finance instructions, Provincial and National Treasury regulations, as well as Accounting Officer System.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Duties

  • Supervision of asset and liabilities, budget, expenditure monitoring and control.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, effective and efficient support to the ASD in financial accounting, including compliance and risk management.
  • People Management within the component.
  • Manage utility claims from estate partners.
  • Manage the preparation of the BMI forecasting sessions.
  • Authorising of BAS and LOGIS payments.
  • Finalisation of the IFS and AFS.
