Vereistes

• MBChB-graad of ekwivalente kwalifikasies.
• Registrasiesertifikaat met die Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as 'n Mediese Spesialis in Kardiothorakale Chirurgie en huidige registrasie.
• Minimum 7 jaar se post-registrasie-ervaring as 'n spesialis Kardiothorakale Chirurg.
• Bykomende kwalifikasies: PHD sal 'n bykomende voordeel wees.
• MMed (Cardiothoracic) of ekwivalente hoër graad FC Cardio (SA).
• Ervaring in 'n tersiêre/kwaternêre akademiese omgewing.
• Ervaring in kliniese bestuur, diensonwikkeling en akademiese leierskap.
• Kennis, Vaardighede en Bevoegdhede: Kundigheid in die bestuur van akute en chroniese kardiale chirurgiese en torakale chirurgiese toestande, insluitend noodgevalle en trauma.
• Kennis van nasionale en internasionale demografie, huidige gesondheids- en openbare dienswetgewing, regulasies en beleid, insluitend mediese etiek, epidemiologie en statistiek.
• Sterk kliniese besluitneming, kommunikasie en interpersoonlike vaardighede.
• Ervaring in multidissiplinêre spanwerk, kliniese opleiding en funksionering in 'n kwaternêre hospitaal.
• Vermoë om studente, junior personeel en verwante personeel te onderrig, toesig te hou en te begelei.
• Kennis van navorsingsbeginsels met vermoë om akademiese uitset te dryf.
• Leierskap, administratiewe en konflikbeslegtingsvaardighede.

Pligte

• Lei en bestuur die Kliniese Eenheid soos gedelegeer deur die CEO en Mediese Skool Dekaan in die volgende areas: Verseker hoë standaarde van kliniese sorg, etiek en bestuur.
• Hou toesig oor eenheidadministrasie, personeelprestasie en dienslewering.
• Verskaf spesialiste kliniese dienste, insluitend buitepasientesorg, konsultasies en noodgevalle.
• Neem deel na-ure konsultantdienste.
• Lei opleiding van voorgraadse en nagraadse studente en verwante gesondheidspersoneel.
• Ontwikkel en implementeer kliniese protokolle in assosiasie met ander chirurgiese dissiplines.
• Ondersteun kliniese oudit en gehaltversekeringsprogramme.
• Bevraf uitreik en versterk streek kardiothorakale chirurgiese dienste by sekondêre en tersiêre vlak hospitale.
• Verseker doeltreffende en koste-effektiewe gebruik van hulpbronne.
• Werk saam met UKZN, CMSA, gesondheidsisteem vennote en ander torakale chirurgiese eenhede by provinsiale, nasionale en internasionale vlakke.
• Bevorder en ondersteun navorsing en akademiese ontwikkeling soos gedelegeer deur die CEO in ooreenstemming met die beleide van UKZN en die College of Cardiothoracic Surgeons.
