Vereistes

  • Aansoeker moet in besit wees van 'n Graad 12-sertifikaat en BSc (Hon) of M Tech met Plantkunde, Agronomie, Hortikultuur, Genetika en / of Plantbiotegnologie as 'n hoofvak.
  • Verpligte registrasie by die South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNSP) as 'n Professionele Natuurwetenskaplike.
  • Werksverwante werkservaring: 'n Minimum van drie (3) jaar na kwalifikasie op die gebied van plantkunde, planttaksonomie, plantteling of administrasie van wetgewing verwant aan Landbou.
  • Plant Breeders’ Rights Act.
  • Plant Improvement Act.
  • UPOV Convention.
  • Plantmorfologie en -fisiologie. Statistiek.
  • Werksverwante vaardighede: Rekenaarvaardighede (MS Office).

Pligte

  • Ontwikkel en implementeer relevante stelsels en prosedures.
  • Verifieer aansoeke en tegniese vraelyste wat deur applikante ingedien word ooreenkomstig die Plant Breeding’s Rights Act en die Plant Improvement Act.
  • Vestiging van proewe in samewerking met die direktoraat se plaasbestuurder, applikant of hul aangestelde agent soos van toepassing.
  • Identifiseer die ligging van alle kandidaat- en vergelykende variëteite / skakel met die plaasbestuurder oor veldidentifikasie.
  • Skakel met kliënte oor aangeleenthede verwant aan hul aansoeke en doen terreinbesoeke.
  • Voer tegniese wetenskaplike analises uit.
  • Versamel data oor kandidaat- en standaardvariëteite volgens voorgeskrewe riglyne.
  • Waarneming en evaluering van kandidate volgens die International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) of Nasionale Toetsriglyne soos van toepassing.
  • Variëteitkarakterisering en -dokumentasie.
  • Data-analise oor kandidaat- en standaardvariëteite.
  • Stel variëteitbeskrywings en DUS-verslae vir kandidaatvariëteite op.
  • Bevestig dat kandidaatvariëteite aan voorgeskrewe DUS-vereistes voldoen ooreenkomstig die tersaaklike wetgewing. Dataverwerking.
  • Verskaf tegniese ondersteuning en advies.
  • Versamel en verskaf tegniese / wetenskaplike data, inligting en advies aan Registrateurs en Plantverbeteringsorganisasies.
  • Verskaf tegniese ondersteuning en advies aan applikante met betrekking tot Tegniese Vraelyste wat ingedien word ooreenkomstig die Plant Breeder’s Rights Act en die Plant Improvement Act.
  • Navorsing en ontwikkeling.
  • Opstel en / of verskaf insette tot UPOV en / of verskaf aan UPOV en / of nasionale toetsriglyne.
  • Hersien en bestudeer wetenskaplike publikasies, insluitend internetsoektogte, wat relevant is tot ontvangde PBR/VL-aansoeke.
  • Neem deel aan nasionale, streeks- en internasionale forums.
  • Skakel met tersaaklike wetenskaplike liggame oor tegniese / wetenskapverwante aangeleenthede en die uitruil van kennis daarvan.
  • Verseker bestuur van verwysingsversamelings.
  • Verseker behoorlike bestuur van die argiefstelsel en gewas- en saadregisters.
  • Voer navorsing uit of neem deel aan navorsing rakende variëteitkenmerke of ringtoetse soos van toepassing.
