Oorsig

Senior spesialis benodig om maatskappyvlak-kweekhuisgasverslae te verifieer en te hersien vir koolstofbelastingvalidasie in die nywerheids- en afvalsektore.

Vereistes

• Meestersgraad (NQF9) in Chemiese Ingenieurswese, Natuur- of Omgigewingswetenskappe of relevante kwalifikasie soos deur SAQA erken.
• Vyf (5) jaar se ondervinding in die relevante veld.
• Kennis van omgewings- en ontwikkelingskwessies (wêreldwyd, streeks, plaaslik).
• Goeie begrip en kennis van emissie- en sekwestringsprosesse, asook bronne en putte in die onderskeie sektore.
• Program- en projekbestuur.
• Kennis van nywerheidsprosesse en hul verwante kweekhuisgasemissies.
• Vermoë om kweekhuisgasemissiehersienings uit te voer.
• Begrip van Suid-Afrika se kweekhuisgasemissieprofiel en klimaatsveranderingsmitigasie.
• Uitgebreide kennis van klimaatsveranderingsmitigasiekwessies, insluitend regs- en beleidsraamwerke en ander struikelblokke, die ekonomie en tegniese vereistes van lae-koolstofontwikkeling.
• Vermoë om navorsing te doen, inligting in te samel en te ontleed.
• Kennis van atmosferiese chemie en nywerheidsproses-toepassings.
• Data-insameling en -ontleding.
• Modellering en koördinasie.
• Goeie kommunikasie (skriftelik en mondelings), analitiese, organisatoriese en verslagdoeningsvaardighede. Inligtingsbestuur.
• Sin van verantwoordelikheid en lojaliteit.

Pligte

• Voer verslagverifikasie vir koolstofbelasting uit.
• Voer tegniese verifikasie en hersiening van maatskappyvlak-kweekhuisgasverslae uit ter ondersteuning van koolstofbelastingvalidasieprosesse vir die IPPU en Afval.
• Beoordeel die volledigheid, akkuraatheid en metodologiese geskiktheid van emissiedata wat deur gereguleerde entiteite ingedien is.
• Evalueer verifikasiestate en onafhanklike beoordelaarsverslae om nakoming van regulasievereistes te verseker.
• Werk saam met relevante owerhede om belyning tussen gerapporteerde emissies, koolstofbelastingindienings en nasionale voorraaddata te verseker.
• Verskaf tegniese leierskap en voorraadbestuur vir die Nywerheidsprosesse-produkgebruik- en Afvalsektore.
• Lei die ontwikkeling, samestelling en verbetering van kweekhuisgasvoorrade vir die IPPU- en Afvalsektore in ooreenstemming met IPCC-riglyne en UNFCCC-verslagdoeningsvereistes.
• Hou toesig oor metodologiese keuse, emissiefaktorontwikkeling en aktiwiteitsdatabestuur om wetenskaplike robuustheid te verseker.
• Ondersteun die toekenning van koolstofbegrotings vir maatskappye in die IPPU-sektor.
• Ondersteun die ontwikkeling van regulasies vir die bestuur van sintetiese kweekhuisgasse.
• Voer kweekhuisgasemissie-scenariomodellering en -ontleding uit.
• Ondersteun die ontwikkeling en toepassing van emissieprojeksiemodelle vir die IPPU- en Afvalsektore om nasionale mitigasiepatrone in te lig.
• Ontleed basislyn- en alternatiewe emissiescenario's om die potensiële impak van beleide, regulasies en tegnologiese ingrypings te assesseer.
• Werk saam met modelleringspanne, navorsingsinstellings en beleidseenhede om konsekwentheid tussen voorraaddatal en projeksies te verseker.
• Voer navorsingstudies uit en implementeer befondsingsinisiatiewe.
• Lei en koördineer navorsingstudies wat gemik is op die verbetering van emissieskattings, emissiefaktore, mitigasie-opsies en datastelsels vir die IPPU- en Afvalsektore.
• Identifiseer prioriteitsnavorsingsbehoeftes om voorraadonsekerhede, verifikasie-uitdagings en modelleringsgaping aan te spreek.
• Ondersteun die mobilisering, toekenning en bestuur van befondsing vir sektor-spesifieke navorsing en analitiese studies.
• Hersien en integreer navorsingsuitsette in nasionale voorrade, modelleringsraamwerke en beleidsprosesse.
• Verbeter datastelsels en dryf deurlopende verbetering.
• Ondersteun die verbetering van kweekhuisgasdatabestuur, -verslagdoening en -verifikasiestelsels.
• Bevorder integrasie tussen voorraaddatabasisse, modelleringsnutsmiddels en regulatiewe verslagdoeningsplatforms.
• Monitor internasionale beste praktyk en beveel innovasies aan om voorraad-, verifikasie- en modelleringsstelsels te versterk.

Following the interview and technical passement for all SMS posts, the Selection Panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of competency-based assessments.
