Direkteur van Meganiese Ingenieurswese by die Departement van Public Works and Infrastructure Hoofkantoor in Pretoria, wat NQF 7, professionele registrasie en vyf jaar se bestuurservaring vereis.
Vereistes
- 'n Minimum van NQF 7 in Meganiese Ingenieurswese soos erken deur die SAQA. 'n Minimum van 5 jaar se ervaring op 'n middel- of senior bestuursvlak in die veld van meganiese ingenieurswese.
- Registrasie as 'n Professionele Ingenieur (Meganies) by die Engineering Council of South Africa.

- Uitgebreide kennis van alle aspekte van meganiese ingenieurswese binne die bou- en konstruksie-omgewing, Public Finance Management Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Supply Chain Management, Contract Management.
- Vaardighede: Vermoë om kritiese hersiening/analise te onderneem en tegniese advies te gee, Vermoë om die integriteit van vertroulike inligting te handhaaf, finansiële administrasie, Effektiewe mondelinge kommunikasie, Gevorderde tegniese verslagskrywing, Syfergeletterdheid, Rekenaargeletterdheid, Organisasie en beplanning, Verhoudingsbestuur, Program- en projekbestuur, Probleemoplossingsvaardighede, Besluitnemingsvaardighede, Motiveringsvaardighede, Onderhandelingsvaardighede.
- Persoonlike eienskappe: Analitiese denke, Innovatief, Kreatief, Oplossingsgerig – vermoë om idees sonder rigting te ontwerp, Vermoë om onder stresvolle omstandighede te werk, Vermoë om op alle vlakke te kommunikeer, Mensegerig, Betroubaar, hoogs gemotiveerd.
- Bereid om werkskedule ooreenkomstig professionele vereistes aan te pas.
Pligte
- Bestuur die ontwikkeling, implementering en onderhoud van meganiese ingenieurswese-verwante beleide, riglyne en professionele standaarde: Ontwikkel evalueringskriteria wat sal dien om vordering en doeltreffendheid van departementele meganiese ingenieurswese-bedrywighede te meet.
- Ontwikkel en handhaaf professionele best-praktijk parameters en kwaliteitsstandaarde en handleidings en riglyne oor professionele standaarde.
- Monitor en verseker die implementering en deurlopende nakoming van beleide en prosedures, asook professionele en bedryfsspesifieke standaarde en regulasies.
- Verskaf tegniese konsultasiedienste vir die bedryf aangaande ingenieurswese-verwante aangeleenthede om moontlike ingenieursrisiko's te minimeer.
- Bestuur die ontwerp, beplanning en implementering van ingenieursprojekte: Ouditteer ingenieursontwerpe en keur goed volgens ontwerpbeginsels of -teorie.
- Bestuur ontwerppogings en integrasie oor dissiplines heen om naatlose integrasie met huidige tegnologie te verseker.
- Analiseer tegnologie, hulpbronne en markvraag om die haalbaarheid van projekte te beplan en te assesseer.
- Hou toesig oor produksie, kwaliteitversekering, kwaliteitsbeheer, toetsing en onderhoud soos vereis.
- Verifieer nakoming van planne, bedryfs- en projekstandaarde, boukodes, wetlike vereistes en meer.
- Monitor vordering teenoor projekskedules en begrotings en beveel toekenning van hulpbronne soos vereis aan om doelwitte te bereik.
- Bestuur die onderhoud van ingenieursbedryfsdoeltreffendheid: Bestuur die uitvoering van die onderhoudsstrategie deur die voorsiening van toepaslike strukture, stelsels en hulpbronne.
- Stel ingenieursonderhoudsstandaarde, spesifikasies en diensvlakke om optimale bedryfsbeskikbaarheid te verseker.
- Monitor onderhoudsdoeltreffendheid volgens departementele doelwitte om ingenieursdienste te rig of herlei.
- Bestuur die begroting vir meganiese ingenieursbedrywighede: Verseker die beskikbaarheid en bestuur van fondse om MTEF-doelwitte binne die ingenieursomgewing te bereik.
- Bestuur die operatiewe kapitaalprojekportefeulje vir die bedryf om effektiewe hulpbronvoorsiening volgens organisatoriese behoeftes en doelwitte te verseker.
- Bestuur die kommersiële waardebyvoeging van die dissipline-verwante programme en projekte.
- Fasiliteer die samestelling van innovasie-voorstelle om geldigheid en nakoming van organisatoriese beginsels te verseker.
- Ken, beheer en monitor besteding volgens begroting om doeltreffende kontantvloei-bestuur te verseker.
- Bestuur die Direktoraat: Stel en handhaaf toepaslike interne beheermaatreëls en verslagdoeningstelsels om prestasieverwagtinge te bereik.
- Ontwikkel en bestuur die operatiewe plan van die Direktoraat en rapporteer oor vordering soos vereis.
- Bestuur prestasie en ontwikkeling van werknemers.
- Stel, implementeer en handhaaf doeltreffende kommunikasie-reëlings.
- Stel alle vereiste administratiewe verslae op en dien dit in.
- Kwaliteitsbeheer van werk wat deur werknemers gelewer word.
- Monitor die begroting en besteding vir die Direktoraat.

Entry level requirements for SMS posts: in terms of the Directive on Human Resource Management and Development on Public Service Professionalisation Volume 1 a requirement for appointment into SMS posts is the successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-Entry programme as endorsed by the National School of Governance (NSG). All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
