Algemene werkerposisie vir die onderhoud van gronde, kanale en infrastruktuur vir die Department of Water and Sanitation in Mthatha, wat 'n ABET-kwalifikasie en ervaring in handearbeid vereis.

Vereistes

• ABET-kwalifikasie.
• Ervaring in die uitvoer van handearbeid sal as 'n bykomende voordeel dien.
• Kennis van algemene werk ten opsigte van die hantering van toerusting en apparaat.
• Basiese kennis van chemikaliëgebruik (verdunning/meng) en chemiese produkkennis.
• Basiese kennis van daaglikse onderhoudsprosedures vir doeltreffende masjien/toerustingsprestasie.
• Basiese kennis ter ondersteuning van waterbenutting en waterhulpbronstrategie.
• Basiese kennis van gesondheids- en veiligheidsprosedures.
• Basiese kennis van tuinonderhoud.
• Basiese begrip van Regeringswetgewing.
• Kommunikasievaardighede en vermoë om in 'n span te werk.
• Moet stip, produktief en lojaal wees.
• Moet in staat wees om in of naby riviere, damme en kanale te werk.

Pligte

• Skoonmaak en onderhou gronde, kanale ens.
• Bystand met die herstel van gereedskap en strukture soos geboue, heinings, kanaalareas en banke met behulp van hand- en kraggereedskap.
• Meng, spuit of versprei bemesting met behulp van hand- of outomatiese spuiters of verspreiders.
• Verskaf behoorlike onderhoud van voetpaaie, opritte, parkeerterreine, plantbakke en ander grondeienskappe.
• Onderhou bestaande gronde/tuine deur vir gras, plante en bome te sorg.
• Hark en bedek blare met mulch en besproei plante en gazon.
• Veeg voetpaaie en gronde en skoon geboue deur vloere te vee en te was.

A pre-entry certificate obtained from the National School of government is required prior to the appointment. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance. Foreigners or dual citizenship holders must provide a police clearance certificate from country of origin (only when shortlisted). The Department of Water Sanitation is an equal opportunity employer.
