Pligte

• Verskaf tegniese dienste aan die direktoraat.
• Bystand aan ingenieurs, teknoloë en medewerkers by die evaluering van besigheidsplanne en tegniese verslae.
• Monitor die implementering van infrastruktuurprojekte soos die Regional Bulk Infrastructure Programme (RBIG) en Water Services Infrastructure Grant (WSIG) deur terreininspeksies uit te voer; terreinvergaderings by te woon; vorderingverslae op te stel en in te dien.
• Bevewig veiligheid in ooreenstemming met statutêre en regulasievereistes.
• Evalueer bestaande tegniese handleidings, standaardtekeninge en prosedures om nuwe tegnologie in te sluit.
• Evalueer tegniese ontwerpe met spesifikasies en dien goedkeuring deur die betrokke gesag in.
• Voer administratiewe en verwante funksies uit.
• Verskaf insette tot die begrotingsproses soos vereis.
• Stel uitgaweverslae op en dien dit soos vereis in.
• Verifieer en sertifiseer fakture vir betaling van kontrakteurs en openbare diensverskaffers.
• Hou behoorlike rekords en dokumentasie vir alle projekte om 'n skoon oudit moontlik te maak.
• Verskaf en konsolideer insette tot die operasionele plan vir infrastruktuurontwikkeling.
• Ontwikkel, implementeer en onderhou databasisse.
• Navorsing en ontwikkeling.
• Deurlopende professionele ontwikkeling om tred te hou met nuwe tegnologieë en prosedures.

A pre-entry certificate obtained from the National School of government is required prior to the appointment. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance. Foreigners or dual citizenship holders must provide a police clearance certificate from country of origin (only when shortlisted). The Department of Water Sanitation is an equal opportunity employer.
