Die Department of Public Works & Infrastructure soek 'n Hoofwerkinspekteur (Elektries) in Gqeberha om bouwerk, instandhoudingspesifikasies en gehaltebeheer te oorsien.

Vereistes

  • 'n Nasionale Diploma (T/N/S-strome) of gelykwaardig, of 'n N3 en geslaag vir ambagstoets in elektries, of registrasie as 'n Ingenieurstegnikus. 3-5 jaar toepaslike ervaring. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie.
  • Kennis en Vaardighede: Bouregulasies, gehaltebeheer van alle bouwerk, bestuur van mense, risiko, verandering en bevordering van spanwerk, bestuur, OHS.
  • Bevoegdhede: Goeie mondelinge, skriftelike en kommunikasievaardighede, konflikbestuursvaardighede, rekenaarvaardigheid, kliëntoriëntasie en kliëntfokusvaardighede, verslagdoeningsvaardighede, selfbestuur.

Pligte

  • Identifiseer behoeftes en vereistes van nuwe werk en herstelwerk deur die ondersoek van kliënteklagtes en nuwe dienste wat benodig word deur onder andere die volgende: Berei spesifikasies voor vir ongeplande instandhouding en geringe nuwe werk, ontwikkel 'n hoeveelheidslys, ontwikkel voorstelle rakende die gepaardgaande koste.
  • Lewer 'n inspeksiediens van werk gedoen aan nuwe projekte en bestaande strukture, deur onder andere die volgende: Inspekteer nuwe en/of instandhoudingswerk wat op projekterreine onderneem word om te verseker dat dit in ooreenstemming met alle relevante regulasies en wetgewing gedoen word en dat behoorlike gehaltebeheer gehandhaaf word, stel 'n skatting op van herstelwerk en koste vir geringe nuwe werk en instandhoudingswerk wat onderneem moet word, ontwikkel, implementeer en handhaaf 'n elektroniese rekordsisteem vir werk wat gedoen word en werk wat afgehandel is, ontwikkel vorderingsverslae oor uitstaande en afgehandelde werk.
  • Analiseer en stel relevante projekdokumentasie op vir nuwe en bestaande strukture, deur onder andere die volgende: ontwikkel en interpreteer planne en sketse, stel kwotasiedokumente op en stel spesifikasies, hoeveelheidslyste en boddokumente saam, waardeer kwotasies en biede en verskaf aanbevelings, skakel met relevante belanghebbendes rakende tegniese aspekte.
  • Bestuur die aktiwiteite van kontrakteurs op projekterreine deur onder andere die volgende: Adviseer en lei kontrakteurs rakende die nakoming van wetgewing en prosedures, verifieer fakture en sertifiseer vordering van betalings, kontroleer en verwerk variasiebestellings en maak aanbevelings oor versoeke om verlenging van sperdatums, lig kontrakteurs en konsultante in oor projekte en sertifiseer eise vir fooie, verseker doeltreffende kontrakadministrasie, fasiliteer en los probleme op wat uit projekte voortspruit en ontwikkel vorderingsverslae oor projekte.
  • Versamel en dien inligting in ingevolge die uitgebreide openbare werke-program.
  • Hou toesig oor die prestasie en gedrag van Werkinspekteurs deur onder andere die volgende: Identifiseer behoeftes vir vaardigheidsontwikkeling en verskaf opleidings- en ontwikkelingsgeleenthede vir Werkinspekteurs, verskaf advies en leiding oor die interpretasie en toepassing van wetgewing, beleide en prosedures, verseker gehaltebeheer en doeltreffende en effektiewe werkvloei van werk wat deur Werkinspekteurs gedoen is en doen verslag oor alle werk toegeken, monitor die behoorlike benutting van toerusting, voorraad en uitgawes, administreer die departementele prestasiebestuurs- en ontwikkelingsisteem.

One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements, and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The Selection Panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic Managerial Competency Assessment in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of Competency-based Assessment. Successful candidates will also be subjected to security clearance processes. Where applicable, candidates will be subjected to a skills/ knowledge test. The competency assessment will be testing generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment tools. Successful candidates will be appointed on a probation period of twelve 12/24 months.
