Oorsig
Veiligheidsbeamptes benodig op verskeie Suid-Afrikaanse liggings om toegangsbeheer en besoekersregistrasie te bestuur.
Vereistes
- Aansoeker moet bevoegdheid in die kernfunksies van die pos toon.
- Wees bedrewe in minstens Engels en nog een ander amptelike taal.
- Wees 'n burger van die Republiek van Suid-Afrika waarvoor dokumentêre bewys op die dag van die onderhoud voorgelê moet word.
- Wees in besit van 'n Graad 10/Standaard 8/NCV vlak 2-sertifikaat/verslag (NQF vlak 2 soos deur SAQA erkend), waarvan dokumentêre bewys indien nodig voorgelê kan word.
- Geldige registrasie by die Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Wees in besit van minstens 'n Graad C-veiligheidssertifikaat of hoër.
- Nie verklaar onvoeglik om 'n vuurwapen in besit te hê nie.
- Bereid wees om vuurwapen-bevoegdheidsopleiding te ondergaan en vuurwapenbevoegdheid in stand te hou.
- Relevante kursusse in die veld van die pos sal as 'n addisionele voordeel dien. 'n Geldige bestuurslisensie vir minstens 'n ligte motorvoertuig sal ook as 'n addisionele voordeel dien.
- Bereid wees om in ploegwerk en verlengde ure te werk.
- Kennis, Vaardighede en Bevoegdhede: Kennis van toegangsbeheerprosedures.
- Kennis van maatreëls vir die beheer en beweging van toerusting en voorrade.
- Kennis van voorgeskrewe veiligheidsprosedures (bv.
- MIS, NISA, Protection of Information Act, ens.) en die gesag van veiligheidsbeamptes onder hierdie dokumente.
- Kennis van die toepaslike noodprosedures.
Pligte
- Voer Toegangsbeheer uit ingevolge die Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Wet Nr. 53 van 1985);
- Positiewe identifikasie van werknemers, besoekers en kontraktors by die veiligheidstoegangspunt;
- Registrering van werknemers, besoekers en kontraktors, elektroniese deursoek van werknemers, besoekers en kontraktors;
- Magtiging van toelating tot die persele aan werknemers, besoekers en kontraktors nadat alle wetgewende vereistes nagekom is, bevestiging van besoeke met die gashere en waarborging van geleiding in ooreenstemming met die voorskrifte;
- Uitgifte van toelatingsbeheerkaarte aan besoekers en ontvangst daarvan terug;
- Onderhouding van die nodige besoekersregister;
- Kontrolering van verskaffers, artikels en voorwerpe, waar nodig, voordat hulle in die persele gebring mag word om te verseker dat die veiligheid van die persele nie benadeel sal word nie;
- Patrouille van geboue en omheinde areas;
- Bewaking van voertuie en toerusting in die veld – Slegs vanuit 'n veiligheidsoogpunt;
- Kontrolering van alle veiligheidsapparatuur en geriewe en optrede, waar nodig;
- Aandag vestig op enige tekortkominge of probleme met betrekking tot veiligheidskwessies by senior veiligheidsmedewerkers.

Short-listed candidates may be subjected to a full security clearance process before or during any stage of employment. Short-listed candidates will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening, fingerprint screening, reference checking and verification of address, where necessary. All short-listed candidates, including the SMS, will be expected to undergo a personal interview and shall undertake two pre-entry assessments, (a) a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements, as well as (b) an integrity assessment (ethical conduct). Short-listed candidates for appointments to certain identified posts will be vetted in terms of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005). A candidate whose particulars appear in either the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register, will be disqualified from appointment. Candidates are expected to disclose if he/ she is a respondent in an interim or final protection order in terms of the Domestic Violence Act, 1998 (Act no 116 of 1998) or Protection from Harassment Act, 2011 (Act No 17 of 2011), and may be disqualified from appointment. The Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, Act 37 of 2013 requires that all new appointments in the South African Police Service as from 31 January 2015 provide a buccal (inside cheek) sample to determine their forensic DNA profile. The forensic DNA profile derived from the sample will be loaded to the Elimination Index of the National Forensic DNA Database. Appointments will be made in terms of the Public Service Act, 1994 (Act No 103 of 1994) as applicable to the post environment. Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or medical retirement, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded.
