Voorsitterposisies oor verskeie streke wat 'n NQF 7-kwalifikasie en vyf jaar bestuursondervinding vereis.
Vereistes
- 'n Erkende en toepaslike NQF-vlak 7-kwalifikasie in enige veld van Kriminele Justisie, Sosiale Wetenskappe of verwante veld.
- Vorige 5 jaar se ondervinding in 'n bestuur- of beleidsnemingspos.
- Aantoonbare ondervinding van en vermoë om effektiewe bewysbesluitneming toe te pas, feite en bewyse te weeg, groot hoeveelhede ingewikkelde inligting te ontleed en krities te evalueer en sleutelkwessies te identifiseer, binne streng tydperke en werk op eie inisiatief.
- Aantoonbare onafhanklikheid van denke en sonde oordeel, met die vermoë om bewysgegronde besluite te neem wat akkuraat gedokumenteer word.
- Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede: die vermoë om respek te verdien en verhoudings in stand te hou deur effektiewe kommunikasie en beïnvloedingsvaardighede met die vertroue om menings waar nodig uit te daag, kollegiaal saam te werk en verskille op te los om sonde besluite te bereik.
- Uitstekende kommunikasievaardighede, beide geskrewe en mondeling: die vermoë om sensitief en effektief met 'n wye reeks individue te kommunikeer, u benadering waar nodig aan te pas en ander met respek te behandel, aktiefluister en antwoorde evalueer om kwessies uit te lig.
- Uitstekende skriftelike vaardighede: die vermoë om welgevormde skriftelike verslae op te stel wat bewyse opsom ter ondersteuning van 'n besluit of aanbeveling.
- Aantoonbare hoë standaarde van korporatiewe en persoonlike integriteit en gedrag, soos 'n sterk toewyding aan billikheid, gelykheid en die ethos van ondersteuning van die breër openbare of gemeenskapsgoed deur u bydraes.
- Hoë vlakke van tydbestuur, organisatoriese en administratiewe vaardighede, tesame met sterk persoonlike motivering en toewyding tot professionele self-ontwikkeling.
- Bewyse van ondervinding van enige aspek van die kriminele justisiestelsel en 'n begrip van die belangrikheid van die slagoffer se perspektief.
- Vorige ondervinding in 'n bestuur- of beleidsnemingspos.
Pligte
- Inligting ontleed en krities evalueer om voortgesette risiko/gevaarlikheid in 'n individu oortreder se saak te identifiseer, waar inligting uit 'n verskeidenheid bronne kan kom, insluitend elektroniese en papier-dokumente, elektroniese opdaterings en bewyse gegee by mondelinge verhore.
- Kennis en oordeel op oortreder-sake toepas om te besluit of hulle veilig in die gemeenskap vrygelaat kan word en voorwaardes waar vrygelating gepas is.
- Verskerp die verhoor van sake om risiko te assesseer.
- Samewerkend met ander parolielede om oordele oor die beskikbare bewyse te maak en 'n bondige en gestruktureerde opsomming van relevante faktore in die bereik van 'n besluit of aanbeveling te verskaf.
- Vergemaklik verslagyskrif, konsep redes gegee samevattings en besluite.
- Wees 'n effektiewe ambassadeur vir die Parolebord wanneer u dit verteenwoordig by verhore of enige ander geleentheid.
- Vergemaklik administratiewe rolle wat verband hou met voorbereiding vir verhore, verhore en terugtrekkings/kansellings, openbare opvoeding oor parool, vergemaklik uitnodiging van slagoffers by verhore insluitende hofopkoms as gevolg van litigasie deur oortreder.

Call for applications to serve as members of the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board The Minister of Correctional Services in terms of Section 74 of the Correctional Services Act, Act 111 of 1998 invite interested and suitable candidates to apply for an opportunity to serve as members of the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board. The Parole Board is an independent body whose main aim is to protect the public by risk assessing offenders to decide whether they can be safely released into the community. The main role of a Chair (and Vice in the chairs absence) is decision making. Decision making in light of a number of factors, that is: rights of the offender (as far as the right to be considered in light of relevant legislation), calculation of the minimum detention period, understanding of criminal justice value chain, court papers, sentencing remarks, copy of the judgment, copy of the warrant of detention, case law, SAP 69 and 62, understanding the various reports by the DCS professionals, understanding of the rehabilitation process, risk assessment, victim/community empathy, public safety etc. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service with a specific determination that they cannot be re- appointed or have been declared medically unfit will not be considered. Term of office will be for a period of five (5) years or as may be determined by the Minister in line with Section 74 (7) of the Correctional Services Act, Act 111 of 1998. Applications: Applications must be submitted on the Z83 form (Public Service application form) obtainable from any Public Service department and must be completed in full. Only a detailed CV should be attached to your application form. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies not older than 6 months of qualifications and other related documents on or before the day of the interview. Applicants must note that further checks will be conducted once they are shortlisted and that their appointment is subject to positive outcomes on these checks, which include security clearance, security vetting, qualification verification and criminal records verification.
