Izidingo

  • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • An appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) in Diesel Mechanical.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience as an Artisan.
  • Experience in vehicles, heavy vehicle, construction plant, earthmoving equipment or related mechanical maintenance environments will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants are required to be able to perform duties at workshops, districts and field/operational sites.
  • A post- matric qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Team leadership; technical analysis and fault diagnosis; vehicle, plant and equipment maintenance; diesel, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems; maintenance operations; computer-aided technical applications; relevant statutory compliance; technical report writing; problem solving and decision making; quality assurance; planning and organising; communication; computer skills; resource management and conflict management.

Umsebenzi

  • Perform and/or supervise maintenance, repair, inspection, fault diagnosis and testing of vehicles, plant and equipment across workshop, district and field operations.
  • Plan, allocate and schedule work and provide technical guidance to Artisans and other technical personnel.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with technical and safety standards.
  • Monitor maintenance activities, work-in-progress and technical records.
  • Plan and control required resources, equipment and materials; obtain quotations and initiate requirements where applicable.
  • Compile reports and provide inputs into operational planning.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop staff, and maintain and advance technical expertise.
  • Participate in technical meetings.
