• Minimum educational qualification: Basic qualification (that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
• Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Experience: Grade 1: None.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20’ years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after hours, night duty and weekends when required.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Willingness to rotate to other wards when required.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge and insight into protocols and policies pertaining to nursing practices in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of Infection Prevention Control standards.
