  • Ensure that the procurement relating to goods, services and works are done in adherence to the applicable bidding regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate the process relating to the advertising and issuing of bid documents.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the quotation processes for Corporate Office and other facilities as and when required.
  • Ensure and monitor turnaround times on conclusion of bids and quotations.
  • Render secretariat functions to the Departmental Bid Adjudication Committee when required.
  • Perform supervisory functions.
  • Check compliance on all deviation requests submitted by the end-users.
  • Provide training to staff and end-users.
  • Develop and update the Risk Register for Acquisition Management.
  • Provide inputs to the Audit Committee quarterly reports.
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of the Audit Action Plan.

Applicants will be expected to be available for selection interviews and assessments at a time, date and place as determined by the Department. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The successful candidate must disclose to the Head of Department particulars of all registrable financial interests, sign a performance agreement and employment contract with the Head of Department within three months from the date of assumption of duty. Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered. The recommended candidate(s) for OSD production posts MUST submit endorsed service certificates from the previous employer and endorsed PERSAL service records where applicable within 2 days of accepting the offer.
