Overview

General Worker: Stores at Department of Health and Wellness in Cape Medical Depot.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience: Appropriate experience in a stores / warehouse environment.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Incumbent must be able and strong enough to lift heavy boxes.
• Incumbent must be able to operate loaded pallet jacks within normal limits.
• Willingness to undergo training to operate a Hyster/forklift.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties

• Effective and efficient receiving of stock orders from the bulk store into Dispatch.
• Move goods to and from different sections via a pallet jack using a goods lift or forklift/ hyster.
• Pack stock in boxes according to standards.
• Adherence to warehouse housekeeping standards.
