Overview

Food services aid at Radie Kotze Hospital in Bergriver, requiring kitchen experience and basic literacy, with duties including food preparation and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience: Appropriate experience in a large-scale kitchen in a hospital environment.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Must be healthy and strong enough to lift heavy objects and be on their feet the entire day.
• Dress according to departmental specifications and adhere to Hospital Policy.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of production for normal and therapeutic diets in an industrial food service unit.
• Knowledge of hygiene, occupational health, HACCP and safety principles.
• Ability to safely and correctly handle industrial equipment.
• Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to Interpret recipes, use a scale, do basic sums and production planning.

• Render food services.
• Apply & maintain quality and risk.
• Maintain apparatus and Equipment.
• Support the Human Resources function.
