Overview

Tradesman aide at the Western Cape Department of Health Head Office in Cape Town, performing minor maintenance, repairs and equipment installation across multiple trades.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent certificate.
• Experience: Appropriate experience within one of the following fields: Electrical, Mechanical, Building, Plumbing, Carpentry and Aircon/Refrigeration.
• Appropriate experience in a multi-functioned workshop environment.
• Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape Province.
• Physically fit to do manual labour.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to handle tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Duties

• Carry out minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist with repairs and emergency breakdowns (including after hour’s repairs).
• Assist with the installation of plant, equipment and alterations.
• Clear areas where work has been carried out.
• Ensure that tools and material are available when needed.
• Assist the Artisans in the execution of their duties.
