Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate three-year National Diploma / Degree in Labour Relations.
- Experience: Appropriate experience in Labour Relations.
- Appropriate experience in facilitating grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Inherent requirement of the job: Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB).
- Willingness to travel to facilities.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of Labour Relations and training standards and prescripts.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Duties
- Effectively promote sound LR in Khayelitsha / Eastern Sub-Structure as well as its employees.
- Interpret LR policies and prescripts and manage/monitor its implementation.
- Handling of misconduct cases, investigate misconduct, represent the employer in the disciplinary hearings and Conciliations.
- Handle and investigate grievances.
- Draft mandate for the employer and recommendation.
- Investigate grievances and complaints.
- Administer grievance, complaints and disciplinary cases and maintain a database and compile stats to generate monthly reports for labour relations and all training interventions.
- Facilitate Labour Relations training.
- Render a service to the employees, Management and Labour Committee (IMLC).
- Consult and advise Line Managers on all LR procedures and interventions.
- Effective support to Assistant Director and Deputy Director: HRM.
