General Worker: Stores

Overview

General worker needed at the Western Cape Health Warehouse in Cape Town to load and offload stock, move goods, and pack orders.

Requirements

• Minimum requirement: Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience: Appropriate experience within a warehouse environment.
• Appropriate experience in handling stock in store/warehouse environment.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Physical ability to lift heavy boxes.
• Physical ability to operate loaded pallet jacks within normal limits.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge in administration and rendering support services in a store or warehouse.

Duties

• Loading and offloading of stock on the trucks and vans.
• Move goods to and from different sections via pallet jack or forklift.
• Pack stock in boxes according to standards.
• Receipt of stock from bulk stores.
• Preparation of stock for courier distribution.
• Preparation of stock for collection by demanders.
• Maintain hygiene in the warehouse area.
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
