Deputy Director: Maritime and Intermodal Logistics

Overview
Deputy Director for maritime and intermodal logistics in the Western Cape Mobility Department, managing port strategy, stakeholder coordination and performance data systems.
Requirements
- An appropriate 3-year National Diploma (equivalent or higher qualification);
- A minimum of 3 years management experience in Freight, logistics or Maritime Planning or Operations.
- Competencies: Knowledge of and working experience with the legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions;
- Multimodal freight, transport logistics, or sub-sector specific knowledge; information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function; project management; operational management practices; procurement and tendering processes; policy development, and operational management, monitoring and review processes; modern systems of governance and administration; public service procedures, processes and systems.
- Skills: Numeracy, Literacy, Computer Literacy, Language, Project Management, Budgeting and Financial Management, Intergovernmental Coordination, and Stakeholder Engagement.
Duties
- Develop and implement maritime and port strategic frameworks and projects;
- Manage coordination and collaboration with freight stakeholders;
- Manage port performance data, information systems and digital tools;
- Plan and manage the work of and account for the overall performance of the Sub-Directorate;
- People Management;
- Financial Management.
