Assistant Director: Learnerships, Internships and

Overview
Coordinate learnerships, internships and experiential learning programmes at the Limpopo Department of Education Head Office in Polokwane.
Requirements
- A relevant NQF level 6 qualification in Human Resource Development/ Human Resource Management/ Public Administration/Labour Relations/Training and Development or related qualification as recognised by SAQA.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience of which two (3) years must be at lower management or supervisory level of 7/8 within the internship, learnership, workplace learning, youth development or skills development programmes fields.
- Valid vehicle driver’s license except for people with disability. Competencies.
- Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of: Skills Development Act and Skills Development Levies Act, Public Service Human Resource Development Framework, National Skills Development Plan, ETDP SETA grant regulations and reporting requirements.
- Internship and Learnership Framework for the Public Service.
- Occupational qualifications and workplace-based learning methodologies.
- Labour legislation and employment practices.
- Monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Project and programme management principles and internship. learnership and experiential learning frameworks within the Public Service.
- Programme coordination and administration skills.

Duties
- Coordinate the implementation of departmental internship programmes.
- Coordinate and monitor learnership implementation across districts and Head Office.
- Manage experiential learning placements for students from universities and TVET colleges.
- Liaise with ETDP SETA. institutions of higher learning and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a database of interns. learners and students participating in workplace-based learning.
- Facilitate recruitment. placement. induction and monitoring of programme beneficiaries.
- Monitor compliance with programme requirements. agreements and reporting obligations.
- Compile monthly. quarterly and annual programme performance reports.
- Coordinate mentor and supervisor training and support.
- Monitor stipend administration and programme expenditure.
- Conduct programme evaluations and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Promote youth employability and workplace learning opportunities.
- Ensure alignment of programmes with departmental Human Resource Development priorities.
