Overview

Chief Network Controller needed at the North West Provincial Office to manage ICT networks, cloud infrastructure and user support, earning R413,001 per annum.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • National Diploma/bachelor’s degree (NQF 6/7) in Information Technology/Information Technology Management/Computer Engineering/Computer Science as recognised by SAQA with 2-3 years’ experience in the field.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of government policies and prescripts, public service regularity framework.
  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and performance monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, networking, and security.
  • Server and network administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
  • (Competencies) Service delivery innovation.
  • Problem Solving and Analysis.
  • Client Orientation and Customer Focus, communication skills, Teamwork.
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate services management in public service, Batho Pele Principles.

Duties

  • Facilitate the installation and maintenance of all ICT communication systems, networks and cloud infrastructure.
  • Configure network devices.
  • LAN and WAN support.
  • Monitor the desktop support and trainings.
  • Monitor network performance.
  • (Install and test Microsoft packages).
  • (Perform user administration in departmental systems).
  • Maintain uptime of LAN AND WAN link.
  • Facilitate and maintain ICT Infrastructure, Implement ICT Security policies and ICT continuity plans.
  • Store and backup all Departmental data.
  • Maintain the availability of user data.
  • Configure ICT as per standards.
  • (Maintain ICT service and assets register).
  • (Maintain IT security and cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Implement IT security policies on the safekeeping and storage of data).
  • (Conduct IT security reviews and IT Risk assessments).
  • (Facilitate and maintain ICT services and ICT assets) Maintain ICT service charter.
  • Maintain user access rights and user access reviews. manage the allocated resources of the sub-directorate.
  • Facilitate coaching, mentorship, training and development of employees.
