Internship: AP Claims Creditors

Overview

Internship at the Unemployment Insurance Fund in Pretoria administering daily benefit claim payments, requiring an NQF Level 6 undergraduate qualification in a finance-related field with no prior internship experience.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate qualification in Accounting/ Cost and Management Accounting/ Financial Management/ Public Finance Management/ Business Management/ Economics/ Auditing at NQF Level 6 as recognised by SAQA.
  • No experience required.
  • Never participated in any internship programme (for both public and private sector).
  • Knowledge: Financial delegations, processes and policies of UIF.
  • Financial Management Principles and Financial Management Directives from Treasury.
  • Batho Pele Principles Generally Recognised Accounting Principles (GRAP).
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).
  • Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA).
  • Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA).
  • Skills: Communication (both verbal and written).
  • Financial Management.
  • Training and Coaching.
  • Diversity Management Problem Solving. Presentation.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Time Management. Interpersonal.
  • Report Writing.
  • Planning and Organising. Analytical. Numeracy.

Duties

  • Administer daily payments of approved benefit claims to eligible beneficiaries.
  • Provide support in the verification of open vouchers.
  • Assist in gathering information for financial report on benefits payments.
  • Provide support in validating beneficiary claims.
