Overview

Ultrasound Radiographer position at Livingstone Tertiary Hospital in Gqeberha, requiring HPCSA registration, with salaries ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 3.

Requirements

  • Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA in the relevant profession.
  • Registration with the health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Grade 1: experience none after registration with the health professional council of South Africa (HPCSA) in the relevant profession (where applicable) in respect of qualified employees who performed community services as required.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience after registration with HPCSA in the relevant profession in respect of qualified employees who performed community service as required in South Africa.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience after registration with HPCSA in the relevant profession in respect of qualified employees who performed community service as required in South Africa.
  • Knowledge in the application of clinical theory practice, ethics in health care, current, clinical literature, current protocols as well as current health public services regulation and policies, skills in terms of consultation, examination, clinical assessment and clinical treatment procedure.

Duties

  • Prepare and position patient for exams, explain the procedure to alleviate anxiety, and ensure their comfort and privacy during the scan.
  • Calibrate and manipulate ultrasound transducers and equipment to capture high-quality images of specific areas such as abdomen pelvis, heart, or developing fetus.
  • Assist physician and radiologist with specialized, ultrasound guided procedures.
  • Maintain patient records, manage examination schedules, ensures the equipment is sanitized and monitor department supply level.
