Vereistes

• Relevant National Diploma in Environmental Health/ Animal Health/ Veterinary Public Health at NQF level 6 as recognised by SAQA;
• A minimum of 1-year relevant experience;
• A valid code B (or higher) driving licence.
• Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Environmental health legislation and policies;
• Meat safety legislation and policies;
• Regulatory framework of the public service;
• Municipal by-laws that governs matters related to meat safety;
• Environmental affairs legislation;
• Food safety risk analysis;
• Food safe auditing.
• Skills in the following: Computer literacy;
• Report writing;
• Organising and planning;
• Communication skills (written and verbally);
• Analytical and presentation skills.

Pligte

• Inspect abattoirs for compliance with Meat Safety legislation;
• Audit abattoirs for compliance with Meat Safety legislation;
• Perform general functions required by the Meat Safety legislation;
• Contribute to meat safety in the province.
