Assistant Manager Nursing position in Primary Health Care at Overstrand Sub-district Office in Hermanus, requiring a nursing diploma and SANC registration.

Vereistes

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48).
• OR A4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A postgraduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Health Care Nursing.
• Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
• At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification, Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care.
• At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): The ability to function independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team (including the NPO sector).
• Experience with statistical data and financial management.
• Good interpersonal, people management skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Computer literacy (Ms Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
• Knowledge of Public Sector legislation.

Pligte

• General and operational management of the Sub-District PHC services as well as all related services linked to the PHC facilities and implementation of the prescribed package of services.
• Responsible for strategic and operational planning, the implementation of operational plans as well as monitoring and evaluation.
• Responsible for internal and external governance including collaboration with other sectors and stakeholders.
• Ensure sound Financial, Supply Chain Management and People Management practices.
• Ensure an effective Quality Assurance and Quality Management process.
• Manage Health Strategy and Support through good governance in Information management, Pharmaceutical & Laboratory Services.
