Vereistes

• 'n Toepaslike Passer en Draaier Handelskoolsertifikaat.
• Die bekendmaking van 'n geldige, onverstreke bestuurder se kode EB-bestuurderslisensie.
• Bereidwilligheid om wagdienste, produksiewerk en oortyd uit te voer soos en wanneer benodig.
• Kennis en ervaring in grootmaat waterberging, vervoer en druksisteme sal 'n voordeel wees.
• Vermoë om onafhanklik met beperkte toesig te werk.
• Sterk tegniese Kommunikasievaardighede in Engels, tesame met goeie tegniese verslagskrywing en rekenaargeletterdheid.
• Die vermoë om vervaardigingsdrawings te lees en te interpreter sal 'n voordeel wees.
• Noodsaaklike Kennis en ervaring ten opsigte van voldoening aan die Wet op Beroepsgesondheid en Veiligheid (OHS) in beide werkswinkel en werf-omgewings.

Pligte

• Onderhou, herstel, installeer en versien waterbeheertoerusting en verwante infrastruktuur wat tipies op damme en waterverspreidingsnetwerke gevind word (bv. pompe, pype, kleppe, sluise, hulpaandrywings, hyskrane, watervate, en industriële konstruksie-aanleg/masjinerie).
• Voer roetine-inspeksies uit om sigbare, operasionele en veiligheidsgebreke te identifiseer; beplan nodige herstelwerk en rapporteer gebreke onmiddellik aan die Bestuurder.
• Verseker dat alle dienste betyds uitgevoer word en koördineer instandhouding en herstelwerk deur bestaande kontrakte.
• Vervaardig items op grond van eie beplanning en uit ontwerp/vervaardigingsdrawings.
• Funksioneer in streng ooreenstemming met alle toepaslike wetgewende, veiligheids- en regulatoriese vereistes.
• Rekord daaglikse ritte, brandstofverbruik en logboeke vir beide voertuie en masjinerie, asook dienslogboeke vir geïnstalleerde toerusting.
• Verseker dat toerusting en onmiddellike werkareas skoon en goed onderhou gehou word en goeie huishouding wanneer op werf.
• Bied bystand aan verskeie instandhoudingsteams met daaglikse instandhouding, herstelwerk en konstruksiewerk soos benodig.
• Bestuur, mentor en evalueer personeel se prestasie op 'n deurlopende basis.
• Wees bereid om na afgeleë gebiede te reis en gereeld tuis weg te oornag.
• Wees beskikbaar vir wag- en af en toe oortydwerk, insluitend naweke en openbare vakansiedae.

Preference will be given to candidates from the geographical area. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance.
