Vereistes

• 'n Nasionale Diploma in Ingenieurswese of 'n tersaaklike kwalifikasie.
• Drie (3) jaar se tegniese ingenieurservaring na kwalifikasie.
• Verpligte registrasie by die Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as 'n Ingenieurstegnikus.
• Die openbaarmaking van 'n geldige, onverstreke bestuurderslisensie.
• Kennis en ervaring in projektebestuur, tegniese ontwerp en ontleding.
• Begrip van navorsing en ontwikkeling.
• Rekenaargesteunde ingenieurstoepassings.
• Probleemoplossing, besluitneming, spanwerk, kreatiwiteit, klantfokus en reaksievermoë.
• Goeie kommunikasievaardighede (sowel mondeling as skriftelik).

Pligte

• Lewer tegniese dienste aan die direktoraat.
• Ondersteun ingenieurs, technoloë en medewerkers by die evaluering van besigheidsplanne en tegniese verslae.
• Monitor die implementering van infrastruktuurprojekte soos Regional Bulk Infrastructure Programme (RBIG) en Water Services Infrastructure Grant (WSIG) deur terreininspeksies uit te voer; terreinvergaderings; samestelling en indiening van vorderingsverslae.
• Bevorder veiligheid in ooreenstemming met statutêre en regulatoriese vereistes.
• Evalueer bestaande tegniese handleidings, standaardtekeninge en prosedures om nuwe tegnologie te inkorporeer.
• Evalueer tegniese ontwerpe met spesifikasies en dien goedkeuring deur die relevante gesag in.
• Voer administratiewe en verwante funksies uit.
• Verskaf insette tot die begrotingsproses soos vereis.
• Stel bestedingsverslae op en dien dit in soos vereis.
• Verifieer en sertifiseer fakture vir betaling van kontraktors en openbare diensverskaffers.
• Onderhou behoorlike rekords en dokumentasie vir alle projekte om 'n skoon oudit moontlik te maak.
• Verskaf en konsolideer insette tot die operasionele plan vir infrastruktuurontwikkeling.
• Ontwikkel, implementeer en onderhou databasisse.
• Navorsing en ontwikkeling.
• Deurlopende professionele ontwikkeling om tred te hou met nuwe tegnologieë en prosedures.

All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance.
