Vereistes

• 'n Wetenskapgraad (BSc) (Hon) of verwante kwalifikasie in die veld van Hidrogeologie/ Geohidrologie of 'n verwante veld.
• Verpligte registrasie by SACNASP as 'n professionele Natuurwetenskaplike.
• Drie (3) jaar post-kwalifikasie Natuurwetenskaplike ervaring.
• Die openbaarmaking van 'n geldige onvervalde bestuurderslisensie.
• Ervaring en kennis van grondwaterhulpbronmonitering, assessering (insluitend geofisiese opname) en die omskakeling van grondwaterdata tot inligting.
• Basiese kennis van grondwaterverwante analise-instrumente soos GIS en verwante modelle soos MODFLOW.
• Vermoë om navorsing te doen, data te interpreteer en bevindings mondeling of skriftelik te kommunikeer.

Pligte

• Ontwikkel en implementeer metodologieë, beleid, stelsels en prosedures vir geohidrologiese monitering en assessering.
• Voer wetenskaplike analise en reguleringsfunksies uit oor die proses van geohidrologiese monitering en assessering.
• Hersien en ontwerp optimale nasionale grondwaterpeil- en gehaltemoniteringsprogramme en -netwerke.
• Mentorkandidate, lei en ontwikkel kandidaatwetenskaplikes en ander om oordrag van vaardighede/kenntenis en nakoming van gesonde wetenskaplike beginsels en kode van praktyk te bevorder.
• Versamel en interpreteer data, evalueer resultate, modelleer en versprei geohidrologiese inligting aan verskeie belanghebbendes.
• Kommunikeer geohidrologiese inligting aan verskeie interne en eksterne belanghebbendes as deel van die jaarlikse grondwaterstatusverslag.
• Bestuur die werkverrigting en ontwikkeling van personeel.
• Dra by tot die globale wateragenda en verwante internasionale projekte.

All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance.
