Vereistes

• Formele tersiêre kwalifikasie (Tandheelkundige Terapeut) wat toelaat dat die vereiste registrasie by die HPCSA in die tersaaklike professie gedoen word.
• Ervaring: Vlak 1: Geen na registrasie by die Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in die tersaaklike professie vir Suid-Afrikaans gekwalifiseerde werknemers wat Gemeenskapsdiens verrig het, soos in Suid-Afrika vereis word nie.
• Vlak 2: Minimum van 10 jaar tersaaklike ervaring na registrasie by die HPCSA in die tersaaklike professie vir Suid-Afrikaans gekwalifiseerde werknemers wat Gemeenskapsdiens verrig het, soos in Suid-Afrika vereis word.
• Vlak 3: Minimum van 20 jaar tersaaklike ervaring na registrasie by die HPCSA in die tersaaklike professie vir Suid-Afrikaans gekwalifiseerde werknemers wat Gemeenskapsdiens verrig het, soos in Suid-Afrika vereis word.
• Kennis en Vaardighede: Goeie interpersoonlike vaardighede.
• Vermoë om onder druk en na ure te funksioneer.
• Goeie organisatoriese en kommunikasievaardighede (geskryf en mondeling). Rekenaargeletterdheid.
• Ervaring as Tandheelkundige Terapeut.

Pligte

• Verskaffing van noodbehandelings vir mondpyn, bestuur van tandsepsis, en behandeling van post-ekstrasie-komplikasies.
• Uitvoer van direkte restorasies (vullings) en aanbring van fissuurseëlmiddels.
• Uitvoer van skubwerking, wortelbeplanning, en poleerwerk om tandvleisiekte te voorkom en te behandel.
• Gebruik van mondgereedheidsopvoeding en -bevorderingsprogramme in skole, gemeenskapsfasiliteite, en openbare instellings.
• Onderhoud van kliniese areas, sterilisering van instrumente, toepassing van universele voorsorgmaatreëls om kruisinfeksie te voorkom, en voldoen aan Beroepsgesondheids- en Veiligheidsregulasies.
• Bestuur van pasiëntkliniese rekords, bespreings, korrespondensie, en voorraadbeheer vir tandheelkundige materiaal en toerusting.
• Verskaffing van aflosdienste by verskeie sub-distriksklinieke, mobiele tandheelkundige waens, en korrektiewe fasiliteite soos deur provinsiale gesondheidsdepartemente geskeduleer.
